Dr. David Pensak, Chief Innoventor
As a recognized technology innovator and serial entrepreneur, Dr. Pensak had
a distinguished 30-year career with DuPont, starting as a chemist and
retiring as Chief Computer Scientist.

Dr. Pensak also held several senior
research positions and served as a corporate technology growth champion,
providing guidance for and managing advanced computer-technology
explorations and development. Dr. Pensak has lectured on technology
innovation at Wharton, currently teaches at the University of Delaware
School of Business and George Washington University Law School and is also a
Director of the Delaware Innovation Fund.
With a Harvard PhD in Chemistry, Dr. Pensak invented the first commercial
Internet firewall for business applications. He started-up Raptor Systems,
which is now owned by Symantec, in order to develop the technology.
Subsequently, he innovated enterprise digital rights management systems and
was the founder of Authentica, which is now owned by EMC. Most recently, Dr. Pensak founded V.i. Laboratories in Waltham, MA, to
develop new software protection solutions that prevent piracy, tampering and
reverse-engineering of mission critical and high-value software.
In an advisory role, Dr. Pensak has consulted for the U.S. Department of
Energy on Computer Security and Network Protection; He has also worked with
the Clinton Commission on Critical Infrastructure Protection, the U.S.
Office of Technology Assessment, and the National Center for Biotechnology
Information. From 1991-95, he served as director of the National Computer
Graphics Association.
